FONTANA, Calif. (KABC) — A few people today have been killed when a motor vehicle driving at high speeds in the improper path on the 210 Freeway slammed into a different car or truck in the Fontana place early Saturday, officials say.
The vehicle, a 2012 Ford, was heading eastbound on the westbound facet of the 210 by Fontana when it crashed into a 2001 Lexus with two adults and a few small children inside all over 6:30 am, according to the CHP.
The driver of the improper-way Ford, a 23-12 months-outdated guy from Fontana, was pronounced dead at the scene. Also killed had been the driver of the Lexus, a 43-year-previous man from Highland, as effectively as a 16-calendar year-previous woman passenger in the Lexus.
There had been a few more travellers in the Lexus who were also significantly injured in the crash, a 5-calendar year-outdated lady, a 3-yr-aged boy and a 42-12 months-previous female. All of the occupants of the Lexus were being Highland citizens, whilst it was not quickly identified if they have been relatives members. They were transported to community hospitals.
In accordance to CHP dispatcher records, witnesses described the Ford driver was swerving in and out of lanes and driving at higher speeds up to 100 mph in advance of crashing in close proximity to the Citrus Avenue exit.
The crash stays beneath investigation.
