Call Of Duty Season 5 Roadmap Highlights A Volcano Event And New Zombies Map

Call of Duty Season 5 is titled Last Stand and the content will be released on August 25. Activision confirms that Last Stand is the final season for Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone Pacific, and the roadmap includes Warzone events related to the Caldera volcano and details the final Zombies Map.

New battle pass, operators and weapons.

Unsurprisingly, Season 5 will include a new level-up battle pass for Vanguard and Warzone. Five new weapons are also being added. The EX1 Prototype Energy Rifle and RA 225 Machine Gun will be within the Battle Pass tiers, with three additional weapons arriving later in the season.

Vanguard is moving further away from a WWII setting in this final season, as Last Stand will introduce operator packs for classic antagonists from previous games. Raul Menendez from Black Ops 2, Khaled Al-Asad from 2007’s Modern Warfare, Gabriel T. Rorke from Call of Duty: Ghosts, and He ‘Seraph’ Zhen-Zhen from the Black Ops series are all set to arrive sometime during the Season. 5.

New LTM and seasonal event

Returning villains from Call of Duty are sabotaging Caldera, which is the story that the next LTM deals with and the special event tied to this latest season.

With the release of Season 5, Operation: Last Call is a limited time mode for the Caldera map. Activision says the LTM is inspired by multiplayer’s Search and Destroy mode, and players can choose to defend Caldera by defusing bombs around the island, or sabotage it by detonating the explosives at designated bomb sites.

The seasonal event is a community effort called Heroes vs. Villains, where players must choose their side and lead them to victory. Players will collect villain or hero tokens in all game modes by eliminating opponents and searching supply crates. The winning team’s unique weapon blueprint will be given to everyone who follows the event. Players will also have the chance to win other exclusive rewards, such as an animated calling card, weapon charm, melee weapon blueprint, watch, and more.

POI changes and new Gulag for Caldera

Caldera’s Peak is on the verge of eruption, creating changes to the landscape in and around the point of interest. Players will need to avoid the lava flow and watch for molten rocks falling from the volcano.

The Gulag finally has a new design. This is described as a new volcanic-themed Gulag inspired by an old favorite. Based on the image shared by Activision, it may be a remake of the original Verdansk Gulag Showers.

new features

Season 5 will also add some new features to spice things up in the Caldera with Doomsday Stations, Rage Serum, and new ways to call a UAV.

The new Doomsday Station It will be a seismic device found only in the main Caldera game mode. Activating the device will cause enemy helicopters to surround the station, deploying soldiers to attack the area. Defending Doomsday Station will reward powerful match items. However, only one Doomsday Station will appear per match, and players will also need $10,000 to activate it.

the Killstreak UAV Supply Box will give players a way to track loot. It will mark nearby unopened supply crates on the player’s tactical map for around 15 seconds. The Supply Box UAV Killstreak will be found in supply boxes or can be purchased at a Buy Station.

Personal Supply Boxes It will allow players to take their loadout and get an XP boost, but these new crates are extremely rare.

rage serum is a new field upgrade for Caldera, allowing players to become violently unstable, resulting in a brutally effective boost to melee. This includes improved melee damage, increased slam distance, and improved stun power while fighting with melee weapons or fists. However, those using Rage Serum will become louder and have a more negative reaction while stunned or flashed.

Vanguard MP and Zombies

The latest season of Vanguard includes two new maps. Headless is a map coming to launch, described as a small war-torn Times Square setting built for fast-paced action. Fortress will be the final map coming later in the season, which is a medium sized Mediterranean map that features closed interiors with access to the rooftop.

Zombies will wrap up the Dark Aether story with The Archon, which is a new round-based map set in the Dark Aether. Activision says that Treyarch will reveal details about the map and main quest at a later date.

Though the packs have yet to be detailed, Activision’s blog post seemed to vaguely confirm previously leaked operator skins for Hazel and Cha-Cha from Netflix’s Umbrella Academy. More details on the collaboration are likely to come closer to launch.
