China Southern cancels planned return of Boeing 737 MAX flights

Oct 30 (Reuters) – China Southern Airways Co Ltd (600029.SS) has canceled ideas for two Boeing Co (BA.N) 737 MAX flights on Sunday that would have represented the model’s return to passenger traveling in China after much more than three many years , in accordance to the airline’s web site.

The 737 MAX was grounded in March 2019 adhering to lethal crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia but has returned to services all around the globe with the exception of China and Russia following modifications to the plane and pilot instruction.

China Southern experienced scheduled flights from its Guangzhou hub to Zhengzhou and Wuhan, Reuters noted on Thursday.

The airline’s website and flight tracking web page FlightRadar24 confirmed the flights experienced been cancelled. China Southern did not reply promptly to a request for remark.

On Wednesday, Boeing claimed it experienced another 138 planes manufactured for Chinese carriers that ended up in the United States waiting to be delivered, nevertheless it had started remarketing the jets to other carriers presented there ended up no concrete indications that Chinese airlines would take the planes in the near term.

Earlier this month, a 737 MAX flight by MIAT Mongolian Airlines landed in Guangzhou, marking the first professional flight by the model in China given that 2019.
