Amy makes a big mistake in the next EastEnders scenes airing next week when she makes a foolish decision while trying to impress Denzel and ends up in the hospital as a result.

The drama unfolds as the teens head to Denise’s birthday party, and there’s already tension in the air with Lily not happy about Amy and Denzel’s flirtation.

Lily doesn’t take jealousy well when she sees Stuart’s pills fall out of her bag. She wastes little time stealing them all, only for Denise to confiscate them.

But Amy is eager to show Denzel that she can be funny, so she pops a pill herself and takes half of it, sparking terror for everyone else as she collapses.

As Amy is rushed to the hospital, Martin asks Lily where the pills came from, and is sure Denzel is to blame. As the truth comes out, Jack makes it clear to Amy that he doesn’t want her to see Denzel again, but we have a feeling she may not listen to him…

Abbie Burke has played the role of Amy Michell since 2014, but left the role earlier this year as EastEnders the producers began looking for more adult storylines for the character.

Ellie Dadd was her choice to be the new Amy, and she made her BBC One soap opera debut in episodes that aired last week.

A Mitchell with a new face is nothing new in EastEnders. We’re already on our fourth Ben, or six if you include the actors who played him as a baby.

Sam has also undergone a face change with two actresses sharing that role over the years, with the character recently making a brilliant comeback played by Kim Medcalf. Furthermore, even Peggy Mitchell was originally played by a different actress, with Barbara Windsor coming in second to play the character. Who knows?

EastEnders airs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One, with some episodes airing on BBC Two during summer sporting events. The show is also broadcast on BBC iPlayer.
