Elon Musk tells Dave Portnoy he has plan to address number of Twitter bots

Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk explained Monday he has a system to tackle the substantial amount of spam robots or “bots” on Twitter, as he intends to invest in the social media company.

Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, complained in a tweet to Musk Monday evening that he was viewing way too several bots on the platform.

“Hey @elonmusk can you remember to fix these bots on this piece of sh– platform you got tricked into shopping for. I am finding bot’d to loss of life,” Portnoy wrote.

Musk responded to Portnoy’s article, declaring, “I have a strategy.”

Bots are automatic accounts that enable generate targeted visitors on Twitter. They seem like actual accounts managed by a man or woman. They retweet posts, like posts and comply with other accounts. Advertisers, marketing and advertising agencies and other companies are looking to achieve serious human accounts, not bots.

In May possibly, Musk threatened to again out of his bid to obtain Twitter for $44 billion, citing concern in excess of the quantity of bot and spam accounts on the platform. Musk has claimed he thinks the bots make up upwards of 20% of accounts on Twitter.

Twitter reported the variety of spam or bot accounts is less than 5%.

Twitter sued Musk in July to force him to stick to through on the order.

Earlier this month, amid Twitter’s litigation against Musk for hoping to again out of the offer, he exposed his intentions to abide by by with the agreement.
