Allegedly, three children have been “kidnapped” and taken to Tunisia, says their mother.

Dawn Daley, 43, urgently contacted the police and was left “distressed” by the ordeal.

She says her ex-husband, Fares Aljehani, told her he was taking their children to Robin Hood’s Bay in North Yorkshire for a holiday.

But then he allegedly flew from the UK to Tunisia with the three children and his new wife, Samiyah, who is said to be in her twenties.

“I feel like there’s nothing worth living for without them,” Dawn said.

It has split my family in half.

The 43-year-old said the last time she heard from her three children – Khalid, eight, Aasiyah, six and Maimunah, four – was more than two weeks ago after leaving them with their father.

But she was left in a state of ‘panic’ after he did not respond to her messages and appeared to have left her house when she went to pick up her children ten days later.

Later, Dawn spoke with a colleague from Aljehani who said he had left his job the day before to move abroad.

The terrified mother said she was later told by Greater Manchester Police that they had issued an arrest warrant for Fares and Samiyah Aljehani on charges of ‘kidnapping’.

She said: ‘The police have said they have been tracked so far in Tunisia. The five boarded the plane.

“Fares is a Libyan citizen, and I have been to Libya and Tunisia in the past, and from Tunisia, it is only a few hours drive to Libya, so when they said that, I knew they were there.

Warrants have now been issued for the two for kidnapping, with high-risk missing person tags placed on the children. They have reported that names have been put at airports.

Dawn, from Manchester, said she had split from Aljehani, who moved to the UK in 2009, two years ago after her strict faith created “problems” in their marriage.

She said: “The plan was to take them to Robin Hood’s Bay for a week, and then drop them off the following Wednesday.”

“I didn’t talk to them during that time, because when they’re with their father, he doesn’t really allow me to talk to them.”

Dawn said she started calling and texting her ex-husband a few days before he returned her three children, but worryingly, she got no response.

She said: ‘Wednesday at 12:30pm, I actually drove to his house.

In fact, I called the neighbor downstairs. She said that she hadn’t seen him for a while. I asked him, “Have you seen her car?” And he said, “I think she sold it.”

Dawn then went to a takeout store where Fares had worked on weekends, but her boss told her that the father had delivered his notice and moved out.

She said she was later told by police that Fares and Samiyah Aljehani had boarded a TUI flight from Manchester airport on August 8 with their three children.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman told Metro.co.uk: ‘On 10th August 2022, police received a report that three children aged 8, 6 and 4 had gone missing from their home in Wythenshawe.

The children are believed to be with a family member. Investigations are underway to trace the whereabouts of the children.
