The pilot explained to the guide flight attendant about the incoming weather conditions, and within just 1 to 3 seconds, the airplane — an Airbus A330 — plowed into what the report explained as “severely convectively induced turbulence,” the report claims.

“Soon right after the turbulence-connected upset, the lead flight attendant knowledgeable the flight crew that there ended up many injuries in the cabin,” the report suggests.

Satellite imagery later reviewed by the report’s authors showed sturdy cells affiliated with a storm method going toward Hawaii that had been in close proximity to the flight path, according to the report.

No other pilots experienced claimed intense weather in the region ahead of the incident, the report claims.

Of the 291 travellers and crew on board the Hawaiian Airlines flight, 25 people experienced cuts, bruises, nausea and head accidents, officers mentioned at the time.

6 of the accidents have been severe, the report says. Harm to the plane was explained in the report as minor.
